WHAT:  RENEW, 7-Eleven’s emissions offset program, is the first of its kind in Canada. For every litre of fuel a customer purchases at participating 7-Eleven® fueling stations, an investment will be made in reforestation, green-scape projects, wildlife protection and/or renewable energy projects designed to help offset tailpipe emissions. Depending on the grade of fuel purchased and the amount and nature of the investments made, tailpipe emissions from the fuel purchased as a part of the 7-Eleven RENEW program may be offset by up to 30 percent. The 7-Eleven RENEW program will launch its expansive effort at more than 60 7-Eleven fueling locations across the Metro Vancouver Regional District. The public is invited to celebrate National Tree Day, and attend the launch of the 7-Eleven RENEW program alongside RENEW partners including Tree Canada. Free tree saplings will be provided to the first 50 attendees. Working in cooperation with Tree Canada, the 7-Eleven RENEW program has a goal of planting 20,000 trees by October 2019, and has already planted more than 70,000 trees with the Arbor Day Foundation in the U.S.
